Naval Medical Center Portsmouth was recently recognized among the Top 10% of hospitals in the US for Surgical Quality via NSQIP. Mark Coseo, MD, one of our spine surgeons, is currently deployed to the Middle East. Matt Stepanovich, MD of our pediatric orthopedics, recently returned from a military humanitarian mission in Central and South America aboard the USNS Comfort. Finally, one of our new hip and knee reconstruction specialists, LCDR Ashton Goldman, was awarded the Lawrence D. Dorr Surgical Techniques and Technologies Award at the 2018 AAHKS Annual Meeting for his research, "Why are Contemporary Revision Total Hip Arthroplasties Failing? An Analysis of 2500 Cases."
