Emergency first responders - doctors, nurses, and others who save trauma patients' lives - were honored by Virginia Commonwealth University. The 11th Annual "Shining Knight Gala" was held May 18 at the Richmond Convention Center. The event raises money for VCU Trauma Center's Injury and Violence Prevention Program. The event also thanked those who helped the Hanover firefighters, Carter Lewis and David Johnson, after their fire truck was hit along Interstate 295 during Tropical Storm Michael last year, killing Lt. Brad Clark. Several members of the VCU Orthopaedic Surgery Department were among those recognized for the outstanding care they provided in this situation. Those physicians include: Dr. Seth Cheatham, Dr. Paul Perdue, Dr. Christopher Lee and Dr. Blaine Kelly.

Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists recently learned that is has been voted the best Orthopaedic Practice in Hampton Roads, by the readers of Coastal Virginia Magazine. An independent agency collecting the votes and measuring the results for COVA reported that nearly 300,000 votes were cast in this annual survey of Hampton Roads residents. That means that you, our friends and patients voted for us and AOS thanks you for that honor.
It also lets us know that you have confidence in the quality of care you receive at AOS from our physicians and surgeons, our physical and occupational therapists, OrthoNow and our staff. We will continue to strive to deliver the best care possible each day and earn that confidence.
