May 6, 2020 - 1st regular email notice to all members on Cycle 7 billing.
May 18, 2020 - 1st dues notice by mail to all members on Cycle 7 billing.
June 8, 2020 - 1st dues notice by Constant Contact email.
June 22, 2020 - 2nd dues notice by email.
July 6, 2020 - 2nd dues notice by mail.
July 27, 2020 - 2nd dues notice by Constant Contact email.
August 10, 2020 – 3rd dues notice by mail. Past Due Notice

September 25, 2020 - All remaining members will be dropped from membership.

Group Billing
There are a total of 20 practices/institutions that are part of the VOS group billing program. These group accounts represent 341 VOS members. We will continue to pursue group billing to our members through emails, dues notices, Practice Managers, and postcards.

Reinstatement Campaign
We have been sending letters and invoices to all lapsed members asking them to renew, highlighting the upcoming meeting and discounted registration fees for members. The campaign has yielded 2 renewing members from this effort.

New Member Spotlight
We have created the New Member Spotlight (https://www.vos.org/new-member-spotlight/). This spotlight is featured on the VOS website and in newsletters. The New Member Spotlight highlights individual members, their background and what they hope to benefit from their VOS membership. The spotlight offers an opportunity for new members to share their story with colleagues in the orthopaedic community.

Membership Categories
Active - An Active member in the Virginia Orthopaedic Society shall be certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and shall reside or maintain an office and practice orthopaedic surgery in Virginia. Active members have all rights and privileges in the VOS and may be elected to serve as officers or directors of the Society. Member dues: $300

Associate (A) - An Associate (A) member shall be “Board Eligible” in orthopaedic surgery. An Associate (A) Member shall have the right to vote and hold office in the Society. Member dues: $300

Associate (B) Member - An Associate (B) member may be an individual who is in the US Armed Forces and is engaged in the practice of orthopaedic surgery within any of the military medical installations in Virginia. An Associate (B) Member shall have the right to vote and hold office in the Society. Member dues: $225

Associate (C) Member - An Associate (C) Member shall be a physician, non-orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in musculo-skeletal care. An Associate (C) member will have no vote and will not hold office in the Society. Member dues: $175

Associate (D) Member - An Associate (D) member shall be a Physician Assistant or licensed Nurse Practitioner with an interest in orthopaedic surgery. An Associate (D) member must have an established relationship with and be sponsored by a current VOS active member. An Associate (D) member will have no vote and will not hold office in the Society. Member dues: $175

Associate (E) Member - As Associate (E) member shall be an orthopaedic practice administrator or manager. An Associate (E) member must have an established relationship with and be sponsored by a current VOS active member. An Associate (E) member will have no vote and will not hold office in the Society. Member dues: $100

Associate (F) Member - An Associate (F) member shall be a Licensed Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) with an interest in orthopaedic surgery. An Associate (F) member must have an established relationship with and be sponsored by a current VOS active member. An Associate (F) member will have no vote and will not hold office in the Society. Member dues: $50

Associate Resident Currently enrolled in an approved residency program in orthopaedic surgery at an accredited medical school in Virginia. Associate Resident members pay no annual dues. $10

Associate Fellow Currently enrolled in an approved fellowship program in orthopaedic surgery at an accredited medical school in Virginia. Associate Fellow members pay no annual dues. $10

Associate Medical Student Currently enrolled in an accredited medical school in Virginia. Free
