Summer 2021 Issue
Gautham Gondi, MD
I would like to thank the Virginia Orthopedic Society and all its’ members for inducting me as President. Thank you, Nicole Deal, for your hard work this past year!
I have seen many changes in healthcare in these past 24 years of private practice. Many of these changes do not help patient care. As President, I hope to work with our legislative group to get some traction in easing the prior authorization burden that our specialty experiences.
VOS works tirelessly to help its members. We couldn’t succeed without our PAC and our legislative team. This year we fought off the rescinding of the medical malpractice cap. Unfortunately, this topic will come up again in the next year. VOS also reached a compromise with the physical therapists for direct access. These are two of many items covered this past legislative year.
If you are in private practice or a hospital employed physician, all these items should be important to you. Please join me on supporting the VOS PAC HERE.
It maybe early, but we also plan to hold a very successful and educational meeting, in person, at the Greenbrier next year! Please make plans to join us April 29 – May 1, 2022.
