Carilion Clinic-Orthopaedics
Roanoke Country Club provided a beautiful setting for a cookout attended by a number of medical students interested in a career in orthopaedics. Mark Hickman, VOS legal affairs advocate, provided an excellent overview of recent issues addressed at the Virginia Legislature and students were encouraged to get involved in leadership roles as they begin their careers. They were provided opportunities to learn more about pursuing orthopaedic surgery careers and interact with students at other levels of training. We certainly expect to repeat the experience annually as enthusiasm was high. Thanks to the AAOS for the educational grant that funded the meeting and those members of the VOS who worked hard to secure it.
